All eyes will be on the Philadelphia 76ers’ tonight’s match as they host the Dallas Mavericks in a highly-anticipated clash on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The Mavericks left the entire NBA world stunned when they announced that they have decided to trade superstar Luka Doncic to the LeBron James’ starring LA Lakers.
The Mavs, currently on the eighth spot of the Western Conference standings with a 26-24 tally, acquired the services of Lakers’ big man Anthony Davis and Max Christie. This will be their second game post the Doncic era and fans would want to see what kind of magic Davis does to turn around their fate and snap their two-match defeat streak.
Dallas will head into the game on the back of their 144-101 blowout loss at the hands of the table-toppers Cavaliers. Likewise, the 76ers will aim to avoid their third straight loss, following their defeat to the Celtics 118-110.
As both sides are gearing up for the upcoming match, fans would want to see the former Lakers star donning his new jersey. However, the side shared an update about him revealing the status and possibility of his debut against the eleventh-seeded 76ers.

The Dallas Mavericks revealed the injury status of their new signing and shared his availability status for the game. Davis is currently recovering from abdominal strain that kept him sidelined for almost a week.
The Mavs announced that Davis, who is expected to lead the Mavericks’ defense, has been ruled out of the Tuesday night matchup. However, Christie, who was also a part of the trade, will be available for the pretime game, per Athlon Sports.
Notably, Davis, a ten-time NBA All-Star, is currently averaging at 25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game this season.
Apart from Davis, Dereck Lively II is also listed out with right ankle stress fracture, while Dwight Powell is out with right hip strain.
On the other hand, the Sixers have Jared McCain (left knee meniscus surgery) and Paul George (left finger extensor injury) listed out. However, Joel Embiid (left knee injury management) is listed as questionable along with Andre Drummond (left toe injury recovery) and Caleb Martin (right hip sprain).
