The 2025 WNBA draft is around the corner and potential Seattle Storm draft pick, Olivia Miles has reportedly forged the upcoming draft. As per ESPN’s Shams Charania, Notre Dame guard decided to enter the NCAA’s transfer portal using her final season of eligibility. The All-ACC First Team guard wants to play another college season instead of going to the WNBA.

Olivia Miles, 22, was a projected lottery pick in the draft, which is scheduled to be held in New York on April 14. The 5-foot-10 guard averaged a career-high 15.4 points, an ACC-leading 5.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 34 games this season.

Olivia Miles has spent her entire college career at Notre Dame and she decided to join the NCAA’s transfer portal. She recently featured in the March Madness event and averaged just 6.6 points in three games. The Notre Dame coach didn’t even use her in crunch time of all three games in NCAA tournament.

The All-ACC First Team guard scored two points in her team’s first-round win over Stephen F. Austin but suffered a sprained ankle. Despite an injury, Miles was featured in Notre Dame’s second round and added eight points. The Fighting Irish lost to No. 2 seed TCU in the Sweet 16 and Miles chipped in ten points.

“At the end of the day, my goal coming to Notre Dame was to leave Notre Dame better than I found it and I think I did a pretty good job of that,” The 5-foot-10 guard said Saturday.

“I love all my teammates in that locker room. We’ve stayed together. We’ve grown so much through this entire season. We are very proud of the work we’ve done, and ultimately we have had fun. That’s really what this is all about. You sign up as a kid because it’s fun to throw a ball in a hoop and look where it’s gotten us to at this point?”

Miles joined Notre Dame in January 2021 and averaged 9.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in six games. Next season, the 22-year-old guard averaged 13.7 points, an ACC-leading 7.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. She also became the first freshman in NCAA tournament history to record a triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

Miles improved with each season and averaged 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and an ACC-leading 6.9 assists in her sophomore year in the 2022-23 season. She dropped three triple-doubles in the season, most by any player in Notre Dame history. Later, Miles had a season-ending knee injury. The Notre Dame guard missed the 2023 NCAA Tournament and the entire 2023-24 season due to knee injury.
