Still, 10 years later, this catch is still considered as the best of all time form many NFL fans and not just only Giants’ ones.
Still, this unbelievable catch comes from a misunderstanding and a poor route run. Still, it gives you chills.
“During the moment, I didn’t know the magnitude of what actually happened,” Beckham said. “I only know the aftermath. It’s been my life ever since.”
With this play, the then-rookie showed the world what he was capable of, how great he could become. He has set a precedent on what spectacular a catch can be with one-hand. and still 10 years later, it serves as a reference for all one-handed catch made in the NFL.
The last example in the 2024 season, came with Garrett Wilson spectacular catch during Tursday Night Football against the Texans.

Immediately after this catch, this play drew comparison with Odell Beckham Jr’s catch on 2014. OBJ has inspired many young kids and future professional players with this move.
The time has no effect on his catch.
There are worst ways to start a career. Injured for the first four game of the season, Odell Beckham Jr had a immediate impact on Giants’ offense this year.
Obviously, his one-handed catch has propelled his career to higher expectations. Drafted 12th overall by the Giants, Odell Beckham Jr was destined to have a great career in the NFL. The combination of his speed, route running and catch ability made him on the road of the all-time greats.
In the heart of Giants’ fans, he will have a special place due to this catch and what he has made their. He hasn’t won any Super Bowl with them but still, OBJ is special.
Injuries have plagued his career.
The most notable one will remain during Super Bowl LVI against the Bengals. ultimately he got what he deserved : a ring. He would have probably be the Super Bowl MVP if not injured such was his promising start to the game.
But this injury have altered the course of his career.
10 years later we commemorate the exceptional skills of one of the best receiver of all-time. And the best part of this ? Do you remember who won this game ?
No ? The Dallas Cowboys…. 31-28.
