Novak Djokovic entered in the Geneva Open after parting ways with his coach Andy Murray. The former No. 1 in ATP rankings is on a three-game losing streak and failed to win a single career title this year. He came close to the glory in Miami Open but lost in the final. The Serbian ace opted to skip the Italian Open and got ready for the final ATP event ahead of the Ronald Garros. Meanwhile, he did the same last year when he lost to Tomas Machac in the semifinals.
Marton Fucsovics won the Geneva Open title in 2018 and beat his Belgian rivals in the first round to set his sixth meeting with Djokovic, first after the 2023 French Open. The 33-year-old failed to crack the qualifying rounds in the Italian Open before arriving in Geneva for second title. The Hungarian No. 2 has posted a 20-10 record in the ongoing season and won nine matches on clay out of 15. On the other hand, Djokovic played only two clay-court matchup this year and lost both of them. The Serbian ace would look to claim his 100th career singles’ title before the French Open.
Marton Fucsovics vs Novak Djokovic have played each other 5 times in the past. The Serbian legend holds a 5-0 lead in the pair’s head-to-head. Both played three times in the grad slam and Djokovic dropped only one set in his unbeaten run. They previously met in Ronald Garros where first set went to tiebreaker and the 24-time major champions secured the victory.

Novak Djokovic has never lost to Marton Fucsovics, but the Hungarian has been a tough opponent for the former No. 1 player on a couple of occasions. If Fucsovics drops his best version on Wednesday, he can bother Djokovic and win at least one set. However, Djokovic is coming off a hard training in Serbia and he will easily have an upper-hand against the Hungarian No. 2 on clay-court. Despite a 0-2 record on clay this year, the Serbian ace will easily overcome the second-round hurdle.
Prediction: Djokovic in straight sets.
Novak Djokovic Win: 11/4
Marton Fucsovics Win: 3/10
