NFL Week 4 Lions vs Browns Injury Report – Key Updates on Taylor Decker, Al-Quadin Muhammad While Questions Hover Over Browns’ Top Stars in Critical Week 4 Battle

Rudra Dubey

The Detroit Lions (2-1) will host the Cleveland Browns (1-2) on Sunday, September 28, at Ford Field in downtown Detroit. Detroit enters Week 4 riding a two-game winning streak after an opening-week loss, while Cleveland hopes to avoid falling to 0-3 in 2025. In this matchup Detroit’s high-powered offense meets a Browns defense that has been one of the few bright spots for the team early in the season.

Detroit has looked like a team on the rise after a shaky start. The Lions racked up 90 points across Weeks 2 and 3, including a 38-30 Monday Night victory over Baltimore. Jared Goff has steered a balanced offense that ranks among the top in EPA/play in recent weeks. With confidence growing in both scoring ability and run defense metrics, Detroit enters Week 4 favored at home, though injuries to key players could test the team’s depth in critical moments.

Cleveland’s season has been turbulent, with a narrow Week 1 loss, a lopsided defeat in Week 2, and a hard-fought Week 3 win over Green Bay, secured by strong defensive play and a walk-off field goal. The Browns’ front seven has stood out, ranking top five against the run, offering hope. Still, the team faces uncertainty with several players managing injuries. As underdogs on the road, Cleveland will lean on its defense to try and contain Detroit for rookie running back Quinshon Judkins to shine in offense.

Detroit enters Week 4 with six players on the injury report, creating questions for the team’s lineup and rotations. Linebacker Zach Cunningham (hamstring), safety Daniel Thomas (forearm), and running back Sione Vaki (groin) are out, leaving holes in both the defensive and offensive schemes.

Tackle Taylor Decker (shoulder) and edge rusher Al-Quadin Muhammad (knee) are questionable, meaning adjustments may be needed in pass protection and pass-rush packages. While linebacker Derrick Barnes (knee) is expected to play, the absences challenge Detroit’s depth.

Cleveland faces a sizable injury list as it travels to Detroit, with nine players carrying various limitations. Offensive tackle Jack Conklin (elbow) is questionable, while defensive linemen Mike Hall Jr. (knee) and Shelby Harris (hamstring) could impact run-stopping and pass-rush efficiency.

Although key players like Joel Bitonio and Myles Garrett are expected to play, the Browns must navigate these challenges carefully. Tight end David Njoku (knee) and wide receiver Cedric Tillman (hand/hip) remain limited, potentially constraining offensive options, while cornerback Denzel Ward (shoulder) is also nursing an injury.
