NFL Games Today: Week 18 Saturday Night Double-Header- NFL Games on Saturday January 4th

Ashwin Rawat

All good things must come to an end. And if the end is going to be this exciting, then count us in! Week 18 of the 2024 NFL season begins with Saturday Night Double-Header. For the 4 teams in focus, these 2 games tonight will carry a lot of weight.

Both the games will be played between teams from the AFC North division. Each of these games will have one team from the AFC North that aims to clinch the division. Out of the remaining two teams, one is out of the playoff contention while the other hangs on to their hopes for postseason by a thread.

So, who plays on Week 18 Saturday Night NFL Double-Header? Let’s find out!

NFL Games on Saturday 4th Jan: Who plays on Week 18 Saturday Double-Header?

The two games for the Week 18 Saturday double-header will be the Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals.

All 4 teams in action will have different agendas on their minds. Here is a brief breakdown of the two NFL games today.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns

The Ravens vs. Browns game will lay the foundation of the path that goes to the AFC North division title. It is simple for Lamar Jackson and company. Win the game and clinch the division and #3 seed in the AFC. Lose and they leave it in the hands of the Steelers or Bengals, depending on who wins.

The Ravens are 11-5 through week 17 and given the kind of form they are in, they would fancy their chances against the Brown. John Harbaugh’s lads are on a 3-game win streak, while the Browns (3-13) cme to this one riding a 5-game losing streak. This will be a home game for the Ravens who are 5-2 at home this season.

It is Derrick Henry’s birthday today and his teammates would love to give him a winning present to make his day memorable.

The Ravens are -3000 betting favorites for this game while the Browns are +1200 underdogs. If the Ravens beat the Browns, they will have two presents for King Henry, not one! The Ravens lead the Browns in overall head-to-head by 36-15-0. But if Cleveland manages to pull a heist, it would be the biggest upset since 1966.

QB Bailey Zappe is set to be the 40th starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns since 1999, most in the NFL in that time. Apart from disrupting the winning momentum of the Ravens, the Browns don’t have much to offer for this game. But the Ravens will not take this game easily because the Browns have already beaten them once this season!

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The second game of Saturday double-header will feature a clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Steelers are 10-6 entering this week 18 game against Joe Burrow and the Bengals. The Steelers enjoyed a 4 game win streak after the injection of veteran QB Russell Wilson in the side by HC Mike Tomlin. They lost to the Browns, who have somehow managed to hunt down two of the best teams in the AFC this season.

But since then, the Steelers are 2-4 as they come to this game with a 3-game losing streak after their losses to the Eagles, the Ravens and the Chiefs. The Steelers will take some comfort in the fact that they managed to win a close game against the Bengals in Week 13 by 44-38.

But if any team has flipped the narrative after being 4-8, then it is the Cincinnati Bengals (8-8). The Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase-led Bengals have won 4 in a row as they enter the Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

The playoff implication is much simpler for the Steelers. Win this game and hope for the Ravens to lose and the Steelers will clinch the division and get the #3 seed in the AFC. If they lose, their hopes of clinching the division are done.

For the Bengals, this is a must-win game. They can still book their postseason berth if they win tonight but for that, they would want the Broncos and Miami to lose their games. Though the Steelers enjoy the home field advantage for this one, the winning momentum favors the Bengals who almost took their division rivals down in Week 13!
