ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky weighed in on the NFL MVP race, saying that Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford are “neck-and-neck for the MVP.” He said, “I would put him and Matthew Stafford right now, neck-and-neck for the MVP with three weeks to go.”

Following an impressive win against Drake Maye’s Patriots, not only did that win soar Josh Allen’s MVP chances, but it also stopped the Patriots from winning the AFC East for now, giving the Bills a fighting chance to win their division.

Stafford’s Insane Season vs Allen’s Heroics vs Maye’s Breakout Year

Stafford is having arguably his best season, leading the league with 37 touchdown passes (on pace to top his own career-best 41 TDs season) and posting elite efficiency numbers that have the Rams contending for the top NFC seed. His weapons like Puka Nacua and Davante Adams give him a loaded offense. On the flip side, Josh Allen might be doing more with less – the Bills lack the same firepower, yet Allen’s dual-threat ability and clutch plays shine brighter, especially in Decembers wins. Comparing rosters, Allen’s impact feels greater amid Buffalo’s challenges.

Drake Maye remains firmly in the conversation too. His terrific sophomore campaign has fueled New England’s surge, with consistent high-level play and leadership. One loss to the Bills doesn’t knock him out and with games left, Maye can still push back into the lead if the Patriots finish strong. We believe that this is still a three-way race rather than just two, with Stafford, Maye, and Allen presenting their own case of why they should be the MVP.
