NFL 2025–26 Week 16 Playoff Chances and Odds for All Teams – Broncos and Rams Clinch Playoffs Spots, Bears Move to the Second Seed in the NFC As Chiefs and Bengals Eliminated!

Devavrat Kulkarni

With the Broncos and Rams clinching playoff berths, there are 12 spots still remaining

It is official for the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Rams, who became the first two teams to clinch a playoff berth in the 2025-26 NFL season after their respective wins on Sunday. The NFL playoff chances for 17 teams are still alive.

With 6 more spots left in both conferences, 8 teams are still in the hunt in the AFC, while the NFC features 9 teams that mathematically still have a chance of progressing.

Elsewhere, the Kansas City Chiefs’ dominant run of 7 consecutive AFC Championship game appearances has met its end following their loss to the Chargers in Week 15. That means the Chiefs join the Bengals and multiple other teams to miss the postseason this year.

And with that, it is now time to take a look at the latest NFL playoff chances for all teams ahead of Week 16 as per the official NFL website.

Teams to Have Clinched a Playoff Berth

As of now, only two teams have clinched a spot in the 2025-26 NFL playoffs. Both conferences have 1 team each in the postseason, and those teams are as follows.

AFC Teams to Make the Playoffs As per Current Standings

After the latest slate of games that took place in Week 15, not a whole lot has changed in the AFC. As a matter of fact, there has been no change in the seeding order since last week. Now that the Broncos have already booked their spot in the postseason, the Patriots and the Bills hold a 99% chance of making it to the playoffs.

They are then followed by the Jaguars, Texans, and Chargers, who hold 97%, 95%, and 93% chances, respectively. The Pittsburgh Steelers come in next with a 61% chance, holding an 8-6 record. The Steelers are being chased closely by the Ravens, who are currently 7-7, just 1 game behind in the AFC North.

NFC Teams to Make the Playoffs As per Current Standings

In the NFC, one major change has taken place as the Bears’ win over the Browns has catapulted them back to the second seed, while the Packers’ loss to the Broncos has sent them to the seventh seed. The rest remains unchanged.

However, it is the Eagles and the Seahawks who hold a 99% chance of progressing, while the 49ers and Packers are on 98% and 88%, respectively. The Buccaneers and Bears round up the top 6 with 77% and 74% chances of progressing, respectively.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
