The Indiana Fever have slipped to sixth position in the table after a loss at the hands of the New York Liberty on Wednesday. Indiana’s up-and-down season continued on Wednesday.

They had a rough start against the Liberty as the hosts outscored them by 32-24. Both sides played with an attacking intent, but it was the Liberty who were more efficient. That first burst shaped the night ahead.

The hosts repeated their strategy and came out with another big lead in the second quarter. Fever could score 14 while New York smashed 21 points. The Indiana Fever looked finished by halftime itself.

The second half story wasn’t something different between the two sides. Even with a tighter third quarter, Liberty edged the Fever by 21-19. With a mammoth lead going into the final 10 mins, the Liberty coach decided to give their primary players rest.

The tempo remained the same from the home side. They scored 24 while the visitors scored 20. The New York Liberty defeated the Indiana Fever by 98-77. The win pushed the New York Liberty up to second in the WNBA standings with a record of 15-6.

Stars Shine Bright, Fever Stumble Again

Breanna Stewart was the star of the show in the New York Liberty vs. Indiana Fever game. She scored a game high 24 points with 11 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu posted 15 points and nine assists, nearly clinching another double-double.

Kelsey Mitchell scored 16 points for the Indiana Fever, while Sophie Cunningham registered 12 points at the Barclays Center. This is not the first time that the Fever have struggled without Caitlin Clark. With Clark expected to miss more games, coach Stephanie White faces a tough adjustment period.
