New York Knicks vs Detroit Pistons Injury Report April 19, 2025 – Major Update on Jaden Ivey as Two Teams Lock Horns in NBA Playoffs After 33 Years

Out of the three playoff series between the two, New York won two, but the Pistons own season-series 3-1 in 2024-25.

New York Knicks (No. 3) and Detroit Pistons (No. 6) kick off their first-round playoff series at MSG on Saturday evening. Both teams will face each other in the NBA playoffs for the first time since 1992. The Knicks and the Pistons have played 15 games in the playoffs, with 7 wins for the Knicks and 8 for the Pistons.

Out of the three playoff series between the two, New York won two, but the Pistons own season-series 3-1 in 2024-25 with two wins at MSG. Pistons ended their 16-game losing streak against the Knicks this season. Playing their first playoffs in six years, Detroit have posted a 44-38 record in the East to clinch No. 6 seed.

On the other hand, the Knicks will be under pressure after losing the season series against the Pistons. They are on a three-game losing streak against Detroit, and recently, the Pistons outclassed them 115-106. After making third straight playoff appearance, New York is aiming to perform better this postseason.

  • Ariel Hukporti: Questionable

The New York Knicks have a relatively clean injury report for Saturday’s matchup. Ariel Hukporti (knee) is listed as questionable for Game 1 against the Pistons. His status has been upgraded for the first time since undergoing knee surgery.

Detroit Pistons Injury Report

  • Jaden Ivey: Out

The Detroit Pistons will have a healthy roster for their first playoff series since 2019. Jaden Ivey remains out for the Pistons as the 23-year-old guard is making a recovery from a broken left fibula and has been cleared for basketball activities. Ivey will have status updated in another two weeks.
