Founded in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves, the Clippers were once known as the San Diego Clippers. For the 1984–85 NBA season, the franchise moved to Los Angeles and became known as the Los Angeles Clippers. The franchise has been one of the underdogs in the NBA.

LA Clippers have struggled in the playoffs and have a record of not reaching the Western Conference final for 51 years. Los Angeles ended a drought of 30 years of winning a playoff round in 2005-06 which is the longest in the NBA history. In 2012-13, the Clippers won their first division title, thanks to Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.

In last one decade, the Clippers improved their record in the regular season and qualified for the playoffs regularly. They also qualified for the postseason in the previous season. This year, the Clippers qualified for the playoffs as the No. 5 seed and will take on the Denver Nuggets in the first round. The Los Angeles Clippers have appeared in 55 seasons in the NBA and have qualified for the playoffs only 19 times. In the last 10 years, the Clippers have been to the playoffs eight times with a winning percentage of 59.6%.

So far, the Clippers have never won a Championship or reached the Finals. They have been to the conference finals only once in 2020-21, have won the divisional title three times (2013, 2014 and 2024) so far, and have been to the 2nd round of the playoffs seven times (1975–76, 2005–06, 2011–12, 2013–14, 2014–15, 2019–20 and 2020–21).

When Was Los Angeles Clippers’ Last Playoff Appearance?

The last time we witnessed the Los Angeles Clippers qualifying for the NBA playoffs was in the 2023-24 season. It was their second straight appearance in the playoffs.

The LA Clippers qualified for the NBA Playoffs as the 4th seed in the Western Conference in 2024. They posted a 51-31 season record and lost to the Dallas Mavericks 2-4 in the First Round.

How Many Finals Have the Los Angeles Clippers Won?

Los Angeles Clippers are one of the rare teams who haven’t featured in the NBA Finals yet. Their best season came in 2020-21 when Los Angeles reached the Western Conference finals for the first time in 51 years. After beating the Mavericks in first-round and the Jazz in the conference semifinals, they set a date with the Phoenix Suns in the finals. The Suns beat the Clippers 4-2 in the Western Conference finals.
