The Pelicans find some spark, but it may be too little too late
The New Orleans Pelicans come into this game with a 123-119(OT) win against the Utah Jazz as CJ McCollum exploded for 45 points. The Pelicans have won four in a row and five out of their last six games. Meanwhile, they lost against the Boston Celtics by just one point. However, all the wins have come against struggling squads, which is impressive but not reflective of the franchise’s current situation. Their franchise centerpiece Zion Williamon has only played in ten games whereas Branon Ingram’s injury worsened the woes. Dejounte Murray and McCollum have kept them afloat but it doesn’t look enough.
The Bucks are surging, but is it a mirage?
The Bucks enter the contest after a 14-point win against the Philadelphia 76ers as Giannis Antetokounmpo put up 34 points and 15 rebounds. The Bucks are on a four-game winning streak and have won seven out of their last eight games. This is the best basketball the team has played on both ends but the wins have come against teams who aren’t at the top of the rankings. It doesn’t diminish the accomplishments but they will be tested once they go up against tougher teams. At any rate, Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard have enabled them to remain in the top four of the Eastern Conference.

Both teams have scored around 120 points regularly this month, however, the Bucks’ defense is slightly better. The Pels have more offensive depth but the Bucks have the Giannis Antetokounmpo factor in their favor. He is on a mission as usual which will complicate things for Pels on both ends. The total will probably go over 235 points but remain under 250 points. Pelicans may be restricted to 108-115 points here and the Bucks can win by 10+ points.

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
