Will Riley
Will Riley is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on February 10, 2006, in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, his full name is William Riley, and he is known on Instagram as willyjball7. He is 2.03 m (6 feet 8 inches) tall and weighs 88 kg (195 pounds), playing as a power forward and shooting with his right hand. He is originally from Kitchener, Ontario.
Riley’s high school career included stints at Southwest Academy Prep in London, Ontario, Preston in Cambridge, Ontario, Grand River in Kitchener, Ontario, and The Phelps School in Malvern, Pennsylvania. He was highly regarded as a prospect, ranked No. 10 by On3 and No. 11 by Rivals in the class of 2025.
He committed to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign on June 23, 2024, after reclassifying from the class of 2025 to 2024 to enroll early. During his freshman year in 2024-25 at Illinois, he was named the Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year. He played in all 35 games, starting in eight, and was the team’s third-leading scorer with an average of 12.6 points per game, along with 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He scored in double figures in 22 games, including six 20-point games, and reached double figures in 13 of his last 15 games, averaging 15.9 points during that stretch.
Riley was drafted by the Utah Jazz in the first round as the 21st pick (21st overall) in the 2025 NBA Draft. After the draft, he signed his rookie contract with the Washington Wizards. In July 2025, he is a member of the Washington Wizards. His professional playing career is scheduled to begin in 2025.
