Early Career and College Basketball
Armstrong began developing his talent at the NBA Global Academy in Australia. He later moved to the United States to play college basketball for California Baptist University.
His time in college basketball was notable, where he quickly established himself as one of the best in his conference. In his freshman season (2021-2022), he won the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Freshman of the Year award.
Professional Career in the NBL

One of his biggest highlights in the NBL occurred in February 2025, when he recorded his first career triple-double with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, in a win against the Brisbane Bullets.
NBA and G League Experience
During the 2024 off-season, Taran Armstrong was an eligible candidate for the NBA Draft, attracting attention from several teams. In February 2025, he signed a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors, becoming the first Tasmanian player to sign with an NBA team.
With this contract, he played most of his time with the Warriors’ G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, where he was able to hone his game at a competitive level, recording notable averages in points, rebounds, and assists in his initial games.
Move to Europe
Seeking a more significant role in an elite league, Taran Armstrong signed with KK Partizan of Serbia in 2025. This move led him to compete in the prestigious EuroLeague, one of Europe’s top basketball competitions, seeking to elevate his game in a new international challenge.
International Career
Armstrong has also represented Australia in international competitions:
