RayJ Dennis is an American professional point guard known for his remarkable rise in college basketball, culminating in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Year award in 2023. He is currently part of the Indiana Pacers system, playing on a two-way contract that splits his time between the NBA team and the Indiana Mad Ants, their G-League affiliate. High School Career Born in Plainfield, Illinois, Dennis began his high school basketball career at Montini Catholic High School, later transferring to Oswego East High School. In his senior year, he demonstrated significant offensive and defensive talent, averaging an impressive 23.2 points, 5.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. His performance led him to commit to the Boise State college basketball program, choosing the team from 26 Division I offers. College Career Dennis’s college journey was marked by consistent progression across three different programs, culminating in a nationally recognized standout season. Boise State (2019–2021) In his freshman year, Dennis averaged 4.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. As a Sophomore, his averages improved to 8.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists, leading the team in the latter category. Toledo (2021–2023) After the season, Dennis transferred to the University of Toledo. In his first year, his averages were 12.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. In his final year at Toledo, he reached his peak, with averages of 19.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.8 assists. He led the Rockets to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season title. His unanimous performance earned him the prestigious MAC Player of the Year award in 2023. Baylor (2023–2024) Following his success in the MAC, Dennis transferred to Baylor for his final college season. In one of the most competitive conferences in the country, he maintained a high level of play, being named to the All-Big 12 Second Team and the All-Newcomer Team of the conference in 2024. Professional Career Undrafted in the NBA, Dennis began his professional career through the G-League and two-way contracts. San Diego Clippers (2024): Dennis initially joined the San Diego Clippers, the Los Angeles Clippers’ G-League affiliate, after being waived from a preseason contract with the main team. Washington Wizards (2024): Briefly, he signed a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards but was waived shortly thereafter. Indiana Pacers / Indiana Mad Ants (2025–Present): In January 2025, RayJ Dennis signed a two-way contract with the Indiana Pacers. He splits his playing time between the NBA team and the Indiana Mad Ants. In his rookie year in the G-League, he was recognized for his performance, being named to the NBA G League All-Rookie Team (2025).
