Oscar Tshiebwe
Oscar Tshiebwe is a Congolese professional basketball player, born in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, on November 27, 1999. Currently 25 years old, he plays as a center or power forward for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Salt Lake City Stars of the G-League. His basketball journey began in high school, where he attended Mountain Mission School in Grundy, Virginia, and Kennedy Catholic in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. In his senior year of high school, Tshiebwe averaged 23.4 points, 18 rebounds, and five blocks, leading Kennedy Catholic to a 24-3 record and being named Gatorade Pennsylvania Player of the Year. In college basketball, Oscar Tshiebwe played for two renowned institutions. From 2019 to 2021, he represented the West Virginia Mountaineers, and from 2021 to 2023, he played for the Kentucky Wildcats. During his college career, he excelled, being named College Basketball Player of the Year in 2022 and Consensus First-Team All-American in the same year. His professional career began in 2023, although he was not selected in that year’s NBA draft. In the 2023-2024 season, he played for the Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Mad Ants. In 2024, Oscar Tshiebwe signed with the Utah Jazz and also plays for the Salt Lake City Stars. On August 19, 2025, he re-signed with the Jazz on a two-way contract. During the 2024-2025 NBA season, Tshiebwe made 14 appearances (one as a starter) for the Utah Jazz, averaging 7.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 0.6 assists. He also has several G-League honors, including 2x All-NBA G League First Team (2024, 2025), NBA G League Rookie of the Year (2024), NBA G League All-Rookie Team (2024), and 2x NBA G League rebounding leader (2024, 2025). At 2.03 meters tall (6 ft 8 in) and weighing 116 kg (255 lb), Oscar Tshiebwe is known for his physical presence and rebounding skills. He wears number 44 and is an important piece for his teams.
