Luguentz Dort
Luguentz Dort, born on April 19, 1999, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is a Canadian professional basketball player who currently plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Dort is known for his intense defense and versatility on the court, playing at the small forward and shooting guard positions. His basketball journey began in high school in Quebec, and he continued to develop his skills on the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) circuit with the Brookwood Elite team. He also represented Canada at the adidas Nations tournament in July 2015. His collegiate career stood out at Arizona State University, where he made his debut on November 6, 2018, breaking the school record for points in a freshman debut, with 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals in a victory. During his only season at Arizona State (2018-2019), he was named to the Second-team All-Pac-12, Pac-12 All-Defensive Team, Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. Although undrafted in 2019, Dort signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he quickly established himself as a key defender. Since 2019, he has been an integral part of the team, known for his ability to guard opposing players and his physical strength. In 2022, he agreed to a three-year commitment to play for the Canadian National Team and was part of the team that participated in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Throughout his professional career, Luguentz Dort has demonstrated consistency in various statistics, including points per game (PPG), rebounds per game (RPG), and three-point percentage (3P%). He is nicknamed “Dortress” and “Dorture Chamber” due to his defensive prowess.
