Jordan Goodwin
Jordan Goodwin is an American professional basketball player who most recently played for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Memphis Hustle of the NBA G League. He was born on October 21, 1998, in Centreville, Illinois. Goodwin attended Althoff Catholic High School in Belleville, Illinois, where he was a highly-touted basketball prospect. As a senior, he averaged 19.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, leading his team to a 32-2 record and the Class 3A state championship. He was named Illinois Mr. Basketball and a McDonald’s All-American. After high school, Goodwin committed to play college basketball for the Saint Louis Billikens. In his freshman season (2017-2018), he averaged 10.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game, earning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year honors. He continued to be a key player for the Billikens throughout his collegiate career. In his sophomore year, he averaged 10.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. As a junior, he posted averages of 15.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists, and was named to the First Team All-Atlantic 10. In his senior season (2020-2021), he averaged 14.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists, again earning First Team All-Atlantic 10 recognition. He finished his collegiate career as one of the most decorated players in Saint Louis history, ranking among the program’s all-time leaders in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. Following his successful college career, Goodwin went undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft. He then signed with the Washington Wizards for the 2021 NBA Summer League. On September 27, 2021, he signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Wizards, but was waived before the start of the regular season. He then joined the Capital City Go-Go, the Wizards’ G League affiliate. Goodwin continued to play in the G League, showcasing his skills as a versatile guard. On October 25, 2022, he signed a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards. He made his NBA debut shortly thereafter, appearing in several games for the Wizards while also playing for the Go-Go. On October 2, 2023, he was traded to the Phoenix Suns as part of a multi-player deal. He spent a portion of the 2023-2024 season with the Suns before being traded again, this time to the Memphis Grizzlies on February 8, 2024. He signed a two-way contract with the Grizzlies, splitting his time between Memphis and their G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle. Throughout his professional career, Jordan Goodwin has been recognized for his defensive tenacity, playmaking ability, and scoring prowess. He is known for his high motor and ability to impact the game in multiple facets. While he has primarily played on two-way contracts, he has demonstrated the potential to be a solid contributor at the NBA level, particularly with his strong defensive effort and ability to create opportunities for himself and his teammates.
