JD Davison

Jerdarrian Devontae “JD” Davison (born October 3, 2002) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Maine Celtics of the G-League. JD Davison was born in Montgomery, Alabama, United States. He attended Calhoun High School in Letohatchee, Alabama. During his junior year of high school, Davison averaged 30.4 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists, earning him the Alabama “Mr. Basketball” award. In his senior year, he maintained impressive averages of 32.4 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists, winning the Alabama “Mr. Basketball” for the second consecutive season. He was ranked as a top recruit in his class, with overall rookie rankings such as 16th by 247Sports, 13th by Rivals, and 15th by ESPN. His college career began at the University of Alabama, where he played for the Alabama Crimson Tide. As a freshman, Davison averaged 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists, being named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. On April 13, 2022, Davison declared for the 2022 NBA Draft, foregoing his remaining college eligibility. JD Davison was selected by the Boston Celtics as the 53rd overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft. He plays as a point guard and wears number 20. Throughout his professional career in the G-League, Davison has consistently demonstrated his skill. In 2022-23, for the Maine Celtics, he averaged 12.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 8.7 assists. In 2023-24, his averages were 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 8.6 assists. In the 2024-25 season, he recorded averages of 25.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 7.5 assists. His field goal percentages ranged between 45.1% and 50.6%, with an overall average of 47.4%. He has also demonstrated three-point shooting ability, with percentages ranging between 26.6% and 33.3%.
