Delon Wright
Delon Wright is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on April 26, 1992, in Washington D.C., Wright attended Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California, where he was a standout basketball player. After high school, Wright began his college career at City College of San Francisco. He played one season there before transferring to the University of Utah. At Utah, Wright quickly established himself as a versatile and impactful point guard. During his two seasons with the Utes (2013-2015), he earned numerous awards, including being named to the First Team All-Pac-12 twice and winning the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year award in 2014. In his senior season (2014-2015), he averaged 14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 2.1 steals per game, leading Utah to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. Wright declared for the 2015 NBA Draft after his successful college career. He was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 20th overall pick. As a rookie, he primarily served as a backup point guard, showing flashes of his potential. He spent parts of four seasons with the Raptors, developing his game and becoming a reliable contributor off the bench. In 2019, he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of a multi-player deal.
