Bol Bol is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on November 16, 1999, in Khartoum, Sudan, Bol is the son of former NBA player Manute Bol, who was 7 feet 7 inches tall. His family moved to Olathe, Kansas, when he was two years old, and he later attended Bishop Miege High School in Roeland Park, Kansas, for his freshman year. He then transferred to Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, before finishing his high school career at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada. Bol was considered one of the top prospects in the 2018 high school class. He was a five-star recruit and committed to play college basketball for the Oregon Ducks. During his lone season at the University of Oregon, Bol showed flashes of his potential, averaging 21.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks in just nine games before his season was cut short due to a foot injury. Despite the injury, his unique combination of size, shooting ability, and ball-handling skills made him an intriguing prospect for the NBA. Bol declared for the 2019 NBA draft after his freshman season. He was selected by the Miami Heat with the 44th overall pick but was immediately traded to the Denver Nuggets. His rookie season with the Nuggets was primarily spent with their G-League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls, as he continued to recover from his foot injury and adapt to the professional game. He made his NBA debut in August 2020 during the NBA bubble in Orlando. In subsequent seasons with the Nuggets, Bol’s role was limited, and he struggled to find consistent playing time. In January 2022, he was traded to the Boston Celtics, but the trade was later voided due to him not passing a physical. Shortly after, he was traded to the Orlando Magic.
