Amari Williams
Amari Williams was born on January 28, 2002, in Nottingham, England. He grew up playing soccer before transitioning to basketball. He initially attended Trinity School in Nottingham and then transferred to Myerscough College when he was 16. Williams played college basketball for the Drexel Dragons from 2020 to 2024. During his time at Drexel, he earned several awards, including 3x CAA Defensive Player of the Year (2022-2024), 2x First-Team All-CAA (2023, 2024), and Third-Team All-CAA (2022). He was also a 3x member of the CAA All-Defensive Team (2022-2024). After his successful career at Drexel, he transferred to the University of Kentucky for the 2024-2025 season. In the 2025 NBA draft, Amari Williams was selected by the Orlando Magic as the 46th overall pick in the second round. However, he was immediately traded to the Boston Celtics. On August 15, 2025, the Boston Celtics officially announced that they had signed a two-way contract with Williams. He is listed as a center/power forward, measures 2.11 m (6 feet and 11 inches) or 2.13 m (7 feet and 0 inches) and weighs 113 kg (250 lb) or 118 kg (262 lbs). His professional career began in 2025 and he is currently with the Boston Celtics and potentially with the Maine Celtics (their G-League affiliate). His college graduation was a Master’s in Marketing.
