Alex Len
Alex Len was born on June 16, 1993, in Antratsyt, Ukraine. His personal life includes his mother, Julia Len, who was a track and field athlete, and a sister, Anna Shaposhnikova. Interestingly, Len grew up as a gymnast, inspired by Jackie Chan movies. He is 2.13 m tall and weighs 113 kg, playing as a center. Before his NBA career, Alex Len played college basketball for the Maryland Terrapins for two seasons (2011–2013). As a freshman in the 2011-12 season, he had four games with 3 blocks in his first six as a Terrapin and averaged 2.2 blocks in conference play, which ranked him third in the ACC. He achieved his first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in his ACC debut against NC State on January 8, also earning ACC Rookie of the Week honors. In the 2012-13 season, his performance improved, with his points per game increasing from 6.0 to 11.9 and his rebounds from 5.4 to 7.8. Len was selected in the 2013 NBA draft as the 5th overall pick in the 1st round by the Phoenix Suns. His NBA career began with the Suns, where he played from 2013 to 2018. After his time in Phoenix, he played for the Atlanta Hawks (2018–2020), Sacramento Kings (2020 and 2021–2025), and Los Angeles Lakers (2025). He also had a stint with the Dnipro team in Ukraine from 2010 to 2011 before joining the NBA. He is currently a free agent.
