NBA Results, March 16- Warriors clinch seventh straight win, Payton Pritchard enters NBA records, and more

Let us go through the key highlights of NBA games on Saturday, March 15.

It was another day of dominance by teams like the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder and more. During their 115-113 win over the Nets, the Celtics saw Payton Pritchard enter his name into the NBA record books. On the other hand, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again did magic and fell short of two points in scoring another fifty-points for the Thunder.

It was an exciting night in the league, where a total of sixteen teams contested neck-to-neck, adding thrill as the playoff season approaches. Here, we will take you through what all the NBA fans witnessed on the courts on Friday, March 15.

Celtics 115-113 Nets

The Boston Celtics continued their dominance and recorded a 115-113 win over the Brooklyn Nets. The game saw Kristaps Porzingis returning to action following an eight-match layoff. He led the charts for the Celtics with 24 points and two rebounds. Apart from him, Payton Pritchard scored 22 points, six rebounds and three assists off the bench. Not only this, but during the game, he entered his name into the NBA record books. Jayson Tatum tallied 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. 

On the other hand, Cameron Johnson scored 23 points, ten rebounds and six assists. Keon Johnson finished with 21 points, six rebounds and two assists. Jalen Wilson and Maxwell Lewis finished with 15 points, each. 

Thunder 113-107 Pistons

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again did it for the Thunder. He led the side to a 113-107 win over the Pistons with 48 points, four rebounds and six assists. Cason Wallace scored 20 points and five rebounds while Isaiah Hartenstein had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. 

On the flip note, Tobias Harris scored 18 points, and had seven rebounds. Dennis Schroder came up with 17 points, three rebounds and eleven assists. Malik Beasley called it a night with 15 points and two assists. 

Rockets 117-114 Bulls

The Houston Rockets edged past the Chicago Bulls 117-114. Jalen Green came up with 28 points, six rebounds and three assists to guide the second-seeded Rockets to their sixth straight win. Fred VanVleet scored 23 points, four rebounds and seven assists, while Alperen Sengun had 24 points, 15 rebounds and four assists. 

On the flip note, Coby White led the Bulls with 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Tre Jones finished the night with 19 points, two rebounds and six assists, while Nikola Vucevic finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists. 

Grizzlies 125-91 Heat

The Memphis Grizzlies recorded a blowout 125-91 win over the Miami Heat. Jaren Jackson Jr. led the charts for the Grizzlies and scored 31 points, six rebounds and one assist. Desmond Bane came up with 22 points, ten rebounds and eight assists. Zach Edey and Brandon Clarke finished with 12 points apiece. 

On the Heat side, Kel’el Ware had 19 points, 11 rebounds and one assist. Bam Adebayo closely followed him with 18 points and six rebounds. Kyle Anderson and Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 13 points each.

Bucks 126-119 Pacers

The Milwaukee Bucks recorded their second straight win as they took down the Indiana Pacer 126-119. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 34 points, ten rebounds and seven assists. Damian Lillard scored 25 points, ten rebounds and eight assists. Kevin Porter Jr. came up with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists. 

On the other hand, Aaron Nesmith finished with 30 points, four rebounds and two assists. Tyrese Haliburton came up with 24 points, six rebounds and a game-high 15 assists. However, their effort fell short as the Pacers suffered their fifth loss in the last ten games.

Spurs 119-115 Pelicans

The San Antonio Spurs bounced back from their previous defeat and took down the New Orleans Pelicans 119-115. Devin Vassell led the charts for the Spurs with 22 points, five rebounds and one assist. Harrison Barnes and Keldon Johnson scored 19 points each. Stephon Castle tallied 17 points, one rebound and seven assists for the side. 

On the flip note, CJ McCollum came up with 26 points, seven rebounds and nine assists for the Pelicans. Trey Murphy scored 20 points, six rebounds and three assists while Bruce Brown Jr. finished with 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. However, their effort failed as the Pelicans recorded their second straight and seventh loss in the last ten games. 

Warriors 97-94 Knicks

The Golden State Warriors continued their winning stretch and took down the New York Knicks 97-94 in a close-contested game. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 28 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Moses Moody came up with 18 points, one rebound and one assist. Jimmy Butler came up with 11 points, six rebounds and seven assists while Jonathan Kuminga finished with 10 points, five rebounds and five assists. 

On the other hand, Karl-Anthony Towns led the Knicks with 29 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. OG Anunoby scored 23 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Mikal Bridges and Miles McBride came up with 19 points, each. The loss was the Knicks’ fifth loss in the last ten games. 

Wizards 126-123 Nuggets

The Washington Wizards continued their winning streak and took down the third-seeded Nuggets (West) 126-123. Alex Sarr came up with 34 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Wizards. Kyshawn George and Jordan Poole finished with 19 points, each. Khris Middleton finished with 10 points, four rebounds and four assists. 

On the other hand, Nikola Jokic came up with 40 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists for the Nuggets. Apart from him, Russell Westbrook finished with 22 points, four rebounds and eleven assists. Jamal Murray contributed 24 points, six rebounds and seven assists, while Michael Porter Jr. came up with 20 points, 11 rebounds and one assist.
