Here’s the NBA Daily Recap for December 4, 2024, where we had only six matchups in the regular season but gave us true excitement. From LeBron James’ comeback in the embarrassing loss to Jalen Johnson helping Atlanta to a fifth straight win, let’s go through the key highlights from the action on Wednesday night.
Los Angeles Lakers dropped another game with a season-high margin of 41 points, despite a comeback show of LeBron James after the slump. LeBron had 29 points, and four rebounds, shooting 12-for-18 and also passed Kyle Korver on the all-time threes list. Anthony Davis had a poor outing with a season-low eight points, shooting 3-of-14.
Tyler Herro guided Miami with 31 points, Jimmy Butler scored 17 points, and Bam Adebayo had 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Lakers’ poor defensive possession guided them to their sixth loss in eight games. Miami improved to 10-10 and started a 4-game homestand with a win.

The injury-hit Philadelphia Sixers failed to secure their first three-game winning streak of the season with a 102-106 loss to Magic. Franz Wagner led Orlando to a seventh win from eight games with 35 points, shooting 12-for-23 and Jalen Suggs contributed 17.
Both teams were tied heading into the fourth quarter but Magic had a 10-2 run to snatch the win. Despite the absence of Embiid, George, Drummond and Lowry, all five starters recorded in double-figures for Philadelphia. Jared McCain scored a team-high 24 points while Tyrese Maxey had 16 for the Sixers.
Brooklyn Nets outscored the Pacers 19-10 over the last eight minutes to end a three-game losing streak. Cam Johnson finished with 26 points, Nic Claxton added 16 and Shake Milton had 15 points off the bench for the Nets.
T.J. McConnell added 14 points, and Tyrese Haliburton chipped in 13 for the Pacers, who lost four in a row. Pascal Siakam dropped four straight points to tie the game with 8:08 left but a 10-0 run helped Brooklyn to take the game away from the visitors.

Jaylen Brown scored 28 points and Kristaps Porzingis had 26 points and nine rebounds to help the Celtics beat Piston 130-120. Derrick White added 14 points and 11 assists and Payton Pritchard finished with 19 points off the bench.

The Celtics were off to a great start with a 15-point lead and their double-digit lead was reduced to eight in the final quarter. However, Boston pulled it back and won their ninth game in the last ten. Cade Cunningham led Detroit with 27 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds. Harris chipped in 27 points, and Malik Beasley added 23 off the bench.
Jalen Johnson scored 23 points and 13 rebounds and the Hawks snapped Milwaukee’s seven-game winning streak. De’Andre Hunter added 20 points, and Trae Young chipped in 17 to extend Atlanta’s winning streak to five games. Clint Capela added 17 rebounds while Bogdanovic had 15 points off the bench.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Damian Lillard scored 25 points and Gary Trent Jr. had 11 points off the bench. Both sides are neck-and-neck for fifth place in the Eastern Conference and have already qualified for the NBA Cup quarterfinals.
Julius Randle scored 20 points including 16 in the first quarter to guide Timberwolves to a 28-point win over the Clippers. Anthony Edwards poured in 16 points, while Josh Minott had 13 off the bench to help Minnesota catch a three-game winning streak after losing four.
Clippers had given a 27-point lead at the half-break and it reached 41 in the second half. Bones Hyland paced the Clippers with 18 points, including a season-high five 3-pointers while Derrick Jones Jr. had14 points. Clippers’ nine-game home winning streak also ended with the loss.
