NBA Daily Recap, February 26- Detroit Pistons’ longest winning streak in 17 years, 76ers fall for ninth straight game, and more

It was another exciting Wednesday in the NBA, where 18 teams engaged in nine exciting battles across different venues. The Philadelphia 76ers continued their woeful run and recorded their ninth straight defeat. The team that was without their star player Joel Embiid had Paul George scoring his first 20+ point performance in a long time.

It was a day to remember for the Detroit Pistons as they entered their names into record books. As the Pistons took down the Celtics at home, they recorded their longest winning streak in 17 years. The last time they had eight or more wins was in 2008, where they won 10 matches in a row.

A lot more happened on the courts, and here we will go through the highlights of all NBA games that were played on February 26, 2025:

Knicks 110-105 76ers

The New York Knicks recorded a 110-105 win over the Philadelphia 76ers and handed them their ninth loss in a row. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 34 points, three rebounds and seven rebounds while Mikal Bridges had 28 points, two rebounds and three assists. OG Anunoby finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists. On the other hand, Tyrese Maxey finished with 30 points for the 76ers, who were without Joel Embiid. Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 27 points, five rebounds and one assist while Paul George finished with 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Pacers 111-91 Raptors

Tyrese Haliburon led the Indiana Pacers with 33 points, three rebounds and 11 assists to record a big 111-91 win over the Toronto Raptors. Myles Turner scored 18 points, and had nine rebounds while Pascal Siakam had 15 points, eight rebounds and two assists. On the flip side, Immanuel Quickley had 18 points, two rebounds and six assists for the Raptors, who lost their second straight game. RJ Barrett and Jonathan Mogbo finished with 16 points each. Ochai Agbaji, Jakob Poeltl and Gradey Dick finished with 10 points each.

Trail Blazers 129-121 Wizards

The Portland Trail Blazers recorded a commanding 129-121 win over the Wizards. Shaedon Sharpe finished with 36 points, eight rebounds and five assists to help Portland record their third straight win. Scoot Henderson and Anfernee Simons scored 16 points each, while Jerami Grant put on a 15-point show. Kris Murray and Jabari Walker chipped in 12 points apiece.

On the flip side, Jordan Poole finished with 24 points for the Trail Blazers. Marcus Smart and Richaun Holmes had 20 points each. Bilal Coulibaly had 16 points, two rebounds and three assists.

Pistons 117-97 Celtics

The Detroit Pistons extended their winning streak and now have the longest winning streak in 17 years. They edged past the Boston Celtics 117-97. The game saw Cade Cunningham scoring 21 points and 11 assists for the Pistons. Tobias Harris scored 16 points while grabbing nine rebounds. Jalen Duren finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

On the other hand, Jayson Tatum finished with 27 points for the Celtics who were without Jaylen Brown. With the loss, the Celtics had their six-game winning streak coming to an end.

Heat 131-109 Hawks

The Miami Heat recorded their second win in eight games by cooling off the Atlanta Hawks 131-109. The game saw Tyler Herro scoring 24 points and 10 assists. Duncan Robinson had a season-high performance with 24 points, five rebounds and six assists. Bam Adebayo and Davion Mitchell had a 20-point show. On the Hawks’ side, Dyson Daniels led the charts with 18 points, five rebounds and five assists. Trae Young and Caris LeVert put on a 17-points apiece show.

Thunder 129-121 Nets

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again led the side with his 27 points, six rebounds and five assists as the Thunder pulled off a 129-121 win over the Nets. Aaron Wigins contributed 24 points, five rebounds and three assists. Both Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren finished with 22 points each. On the other hand, the Nets, who recorded their second-straight loss, had Day’Ron Sharpe finishing with 25 points, 15 rebounds and five assists. Cameron Johnson and Killian Hayes tossed in 19 points each.

Clippers 122-117 Bulls

The LA Clippers bounced back from their three losses in a row and took down the Bulls 122-117. James Harden contributed 30 crucial points and grabbed two rebounds while having six assists. Amir Coffey finished with 20 points, three rebounds and one assist. While Kawhi Leonard finished with 17 points, Derrick Jones Jr had 16 points.

Zach Collins and Josh Giddey had 21 points each for the Bulls while Coby White scored 19 points. Tre Jones had 16 points, two rebounds and two assists for the side.

Kings 118-101 Jazz

The Kings pulled off a stunning 118-101 win over the Utah Jazz and recorded their second straight win. Keegan Murray had 26 points, six rebounds and two assists. Zach LaVine finished with 22 points and had eight rebounds and three assists. DeMar DeRozan scored 19 points, six rebounds and eight assists while Jonas Valanciunas put on a 15-point performance.

Walker Kessler had 25 points, 14 rebounds and five assists for the Jazz. Kenyon Martin Jr. and Brice Sensabaugh scored 16 and 15 points, respectively.

Rockets 118-106 Spurs

The Houston Rockets pulled off a stunning 118-106 win over the San Antonio Spurs. Coming on the back of a win over the Bucks, the Rockets had Amen Thompson scoring 25 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Jalen Green scored 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists, whereas Dillon Brooks finished with 19 points, four rebounds and one assist.

For the Spurs, Stephon Castle and Keldon Johnson finished with 22 points, each. Apart from them, no other player managed to cross the 20-point mark as the Spurs recorded their fourth straight defeat.
