Thursday night in the NBA featured standout performances and a few milestones being shattered. Youngster Jonathan Kuminga saved the day for the Warriors with his career-high scoring. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic eclipsed special milestones in their respective games.

Kevin Durant’s absence was felt heavily by the Phoenix Suns who suffered a shocking defeat against New Orleans Pelicans.

Wizards 101-137 Mavericks

Different opposition, same story for the Washington Wizards. Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving combined to pile more misery on the Wizards as they handed the hosts their 16th consecutive defeat.

It turned out to be a special evening for Luka Doncic who recorded his 78th triple-double of his NBA career, tying with Wilt Chamberlain and James Harden for the seventh-most triple-doubles in the league’s history.

Cavaliers 126-114 Nuggets

Nikola Jokic’s historic triple-double wasn’t enough for the Nuggets to go over the line, as the Cavaliers secured their 20th win of the season, becoming the first team to do so. Jokic totaled 27 points, 20 rebounds, and 11 assists but the team’s struggle from beyond the arc turned out to be a major difference.

Warriors 99-93 Rockets

The Warriors put an end to their 5-game losing streak with a 99-93 win over Houston Rockets at Chase Center. Youngster Jonathan Kuminga led the charge in Stephen Curry and Draymond Green’s absence, and finished with a career-high 33 points to get the Dubs back on track.

Knicks 125-101 Hornets

The New York Knicks continued their winning run with a comfortable win over the Charlotte Hornets. Despite falling behind 20-7 in the opening quarter. New York clawed their way back to take a meager lead at the half. However, they blow out the Hornets in the third quarter with a 38-16 clip to register their fourth straight victory.

Pelicans 126-124 Suns

No KD, no party for the Suns! The Phoenix side suffered a narrow defeat against the New Orleans Pelicans. The home side, who entered this game on the back of a nine-game losing streak, registered their fifth win of the season. Brandon Ingram led the way for the Pelicans with 29 points, including 3-6 from deep.
