NBA Creator Cup: Schedule, teams, and all you need to know

The NBA Creator Cup 2024 will be the first of three creator-focused events planned by the NBA this season.

We are ready for the third edition of the NBA Creator Cup which is scheduled to be held next month in Las Vegas. NBA have confirmed the date and tickets are also out for sale. In this segment, we will take a look at the NBA Creator Cup 2024-25 and everything related to the event.

NBA Creator Cup 2024-25

Format

The NBA Cup format is different from the original basketball version because it’s a fun event. It’s a 5-on-5 basketball game and we will have four eight-minute quarters. If the match ends in a tie like we saw the previous edition, overtime will be taken.

Schedule

The NBA Creator Cup is a weekend event. The event will be played at 4:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, December 15. Fans can watch this game live on YouTube and the NBA App. The NBA Creator Cup 2024 will be the first of three creator-focused events planned by the NBA this season. The remaining two games will be played as part of All-Star Weekend and Summer League.

NBA Creator Cup 2024 Teams

Top basketball creators and internet sensations take part in the NBA Creator Cup. All big names will be divided into two teams – The Hoopers, The Ballers

Both teams have been provided with separate coaches. Kris London takes charge as the head coach of the Hoopers. Chris Matthews will be the head coach of the Ballers. Kris London has played at Oral Roberts and Newman University. He is also one of YouTube’s most popular faces in the sports and gaming community. On the other side, Chris Matthews is also a content creator and shooting coach.

Popular faces in the creator community will take part in the NBA Creator Cup. For this season, the NBA confirmed the names of the potential creators who will be in Las Vegas next month for the game.

Here’s the list of players who will take part in NBA Creator Cup:

  • Jesser: Co-founder of the BucketSquad, gaming Youtuber
  • D’Aydrian Harding: Founder of the Stay Sober brand
  • Tristan Jass: Creator & making vlogs for G-League and college teams
  • YPK Raye: Vlogger
  • Cam Wilder: Coach of the Rod Wave Elite AAU team
  • Carson Roney: TikToker with Basketball content, played for Shawnee State University in Ohio
  • JDub: Ex-Lamar University and Victoria College player, and content creator
  • Marcelas Howard: Comedic basketball YouTuber, and assistant coach at American River College
  • Chris Staples: A professional dunker. ex-player for the Harlem Globetrotters
  • Bree Green: A former Harlem Globetrotter, content creator
  • ItsPikaaaa: A gamer and TikToker
  • Meka: Basketball content creator
  • Trey Phills: Basketball content creator, former G Leaguer, son of former NBA player Bobby Phills
  • Jayda Bovero: Social media strategist, digital creator

What happened in last edition?

In-Season NBA Creator Cup 2023 was full of excitement as it went to overtime. The Hoopers squad beat the Bailers 87-86. The former squad featured creators like Jass, Green and Raye. The Ballers were coached by Matthews.

In the Summer League Creator Cup, the game came down to the final possession. The Ballers won it 81-79 thanks to JDub’s 24 points and 14 rebounds. Jass hit game-high 31 points for the Hoopers.
