LeBron James led Los Angeles Lakers to a 105-99 win over Pelicans to extend their winning streak to five matches.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is updating his numbers in his 22nd season. After scoring his fourth consecutive triple-double in the last game, the 39-year-old writes his name in records books again during the Lakers-Pelicans game. LeBron James led Los Angeles Lakers to a 105-99 win over Pelicans to extend their winning streak to five matches.

The King reaches fifth in the all-time list of playing NBA games

By playing in the game, the Lakers star made incredible NBA history. It was the 1505th game for LeBron James in the NBA and he moved to fifth in the list of total games played in the regular season. The veteran guard surpassed John Stockton for fifth on the all-time games played list.

LeBron James is only behind Dirk Nowitzki, Vince Carter, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Robert Parish. Soon to be entered in his 40s, LeBron James will easily reach the second spot in the tally. Robert Parish sits at the top with 1611 matches and the Lakers star may surpass him next season as we consider that LeBron James will push for one final season.

NBA legend is the first player to score 200 clutch three-pointers

LeBron James is the master of scoring three-pointers in clutch time and has given glory to the Lakers in crunch situations. The future Hall of Fame presented the same show during the Lakers-Pelicans game. He hit consecutive threes in the fourth quarter and made his signature “silencer” celebration.

His three-pointer in the final minutes of the 4th quarter was his 200th clutch three-pointer and LeBron James is the first player to achieve this monumental feat. He helped the Lakers to gain extra possession in the final seconds to snatch the win.

At present, only Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors looks solid to chase this record who takes the third position with 172 clutch three-pointers. Suns’ Kevin Durant is another active player on the list with 145 clutch 3PM.

Lakers star added 21 points including 5 assists and 7 rebounds over 37 minutes. Anthony Davis continued his great run by hitting 31 points and 14 rebounds. Dalton Knecht added 27 points to guide the Lakers fifth straight win. Brandon Ingram paced the Pelicans with 32 points in the loss.

The Lakers now improved to 9-4 and will kick off their three-game home run with an NBA Cup game against the Jazz on Tuesday night. They are already up in the NBA Cup group play as they beat Spurs in the opening encounter.
