Shubham Singh

6 teams have cleared the First Round of the NBA Playoffs. Now, only two match-ups remain as we head to another exciting day of the NBA postseason. In this article, you can find the predictions related to spreads and player props for the May 02, 2025, action.

NBA Best Bets Today – 05/02/2025

Today, we will have just one NBA game as the Golden State Warriors will host the Houston Rockets in Game 6 of the First Round at Chase Center. The Rockets had an imposing 131-116 win in Game 5, but the Warriors have the 3-2 edge in the best-of-seven series.

The Dubs have won both of their home tilts and will be favorites to clean up the Rockets in Game 6. But will the Rockets yield in this must-win battle?

Get your NBA best picks, and here are the NBA predictions for 05/02/2025 on BetMGM.

Best NBA Bets for 05/02/2025

Bet #1: Player Points: Stephen Curry O 27.5 (-115 at BetMGM)

The Rockets have actually done a great job on the Warriors’ primary scorer. They have held him below the 20-point mark in two straight games now. It is a tremendous work considering he had 36 in Game 3. He was held to 20 in Game 2, whereas he started the series with a bang, stacking up 31 points.

The Rockets have allowed him to make 3.8 three-pointers per game, 0.6 below his regular-season mark. But I see the assassination version of Curry coming alive on the home floor. Thus, I am opting for “over” in the player props.

Bet #2: Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets: Spread: Warriors -5.5(-110 at BetMGM)

The 15-point win in Game 5 would have bolstered the Rockets’ confidence. They do have the personnel to win three in a row. However, the Warriors become a whole different beast on their home floor.

They can smell the Western Semis berth already, and Curry is due a big game after two straight below-average games for his standard. I see the Closer version of Butler heating up here, too.

The game can be close till the third quarter,r but I see the experience of the Dubs coming to the fore in the final quarter. Thus, I will take the allotted spread in their favor here.

Bet #3: Alperen Sengun U 15.5 points (-115 at BetMGM)

Sengun has been made to work for every point by the Warriors’ defense, espescially their ace frontline defender, Draymond Green. However, he has done his job despite the pressure. He followed a 31-point performance in Game 4 with an efficient 15-point (6/9) outing in Game 5.

He is having a solid series, leading his team with 20.8 PPG on an excellent 47.7% clip. But I see Draymond Green giving him the biggest trouble in Game 6 and limiting him to under 15 points in this crucial game.

NBA Betting Trends to Know:

  • The total went “Over” the projected margin in the last two games, after being in the “Under’’ category for the first three games.
  • Jalen Green has scored 11 or fewer in four of the five games this series, hitting the “Under” on player props.
  • Draymond Green has clinched 2 or more steals in four of the last five games..

Final Picks Recap

  • Stephen Curry O 27.5 (-115)
  • Spread: Warriors -5.5 (-110)
  • Alperen Sengun U 15.5 points (-115)

Betting Tips of the Day

Bookmakers pay close attention while assigning odds. Often, there is a temptation to put on risky bets, but the odds can hit home more often than not. But there is an area to exploit.

When betting on the spread, it is usually wise to stake on a more favorable spread towards a team like the heavy favorites Cavaliers, taking on the underdog Heat. Thus, sometimes the bookmakers may be conservative, but there is a huge potential to make big on such bets.

Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
