Mubadala Citi DC Open 2025: ATP & WTA Schedule, Top Seeds, Draw and More

The evergreen 2025 Mubadala Citi Open returns to the American capital between 21-27 July, 2025. It is set to be the 56th edition of the men’s event, and the 13th feature on the WTA circuit. Worth 500 points for both the singles winners, the Citi DC Open remains one of the main stops during the American swing prior to the US Open.

Taylor Fritz and Lorenzo Musetti headline the men’s side of the draw at this year’s competition. Meanwhile, the home favourite duo of Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro are the top two seeds for the WTA-500. The Washington Open is played on the outdoor hard courts at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center.

Sebastian Korda and Paula Badosa, who are both set to miss the tournament in 2025 due to injuries, are the defending champions. In the doubles category, all-American pairs captured the trophies in both sections. While Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow grabbed the men’s doubles crown, Asia Muhammad and Taylor Townsend received two walkovers en route to their championship run.

American powerhouse Taylor Fritz will be high on confidence after a semifinal showing at Wimbledon. After receiving a bye in Round-1, he could encounter a blockbuster Round of 32 clash against Mpetshi Perricard. Lorenzo Sonego, Andrey Rublev and Ben Shelton could pose a threat to his path towards the final – where he will face Lorenzo Musetti on paper.

For Lorenzo Musetti, an opening round walkover will be followed by a potential Cameron Norrie meeting. If he gets past home favourite Brandon Nakashima in the Round of 16, Alex de Minaur and Holger Rune/Daniil Medvedev will be up next. In the summit clash, top seed Taylor Fritz is the favourite from the top half.

Coming to the women, Jessica Pegula’s path to the final involves Leylah Fernandez, Sofia Kenin, Elena Rybakina and Emma Navarro. On the opposing end, the 24-year-old No. 2 seed will possibly have to get past Katie Boulter, Marta Kostyuk/Emma Raducanu, Clara Tauson and Jessica Pegula.
