Mirra Andreeva has came through a remarkable season with two titles this year, in Dubai and Indian Wells. In Indian Wells, she stunned world No. 1 Sabalenka. The 18-year-old sensation arrives in Paris with a 7-3 record on clay. Her baseline consistency and mental strength makes her upcoming star. In her early years of career, Andreeva is looking to chase glories in WTA competitions. She has beaten top former major winners, Markéta Vondroušová, Iga Świątek, Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka this year.

Mirra Andreeva has a dominnt 27-7 record in 2025. She reached the quarterfinals in Madrid and Rome. She also won the doubles’ title in Miami and played semifinals with her partner Diana Shnaider. This year, she became youngest player to reach top-10 in the WTA rankings since Nicole Vaidišová in 2007. Following the Dubai Open triumph, Andreeva is currently the youngest WTA 1000 champion. She has groundstrokes, the speed, and her serve will get better with age.

Cristina Bucsa has a great experience in both WTA and Grand Slams but her form is a major concern. The Spaniard had another terrible year with a 13-15 record, including 2-5 on clay court. She failed to cross the qualifiers in Strasbourg, Rome, Miami and Indian Wells. Last year, she reached the second round of the French Open which is her best run in the competition.

Mirra Andreeva is on a different level this year and she secured victory against the top Grand Slam winners including Iga Swiątek and Aryna Sabalenka. The 18-year-old Russian ace has an improved clay-court player and she is in her prime now. Her tactical brilliance and baseline strength would make her a superior player over Cristina Bucsa, who has struggled in the singles’ throughout the year. It should be a cakewalk victory for Andreeva in first-round.
