Minnesota Timberwolves vs Portland Trail Blazers Preview

The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off a 127-114 victory over the Houston Rockets in their last match. In that game, Anthony Edwards once again erupted with a 41-point, 7-rebound, and 6-assist performance, shooting 11-25 from the field and 5-12 from long range. This was also his second consecutive game where he scored 40-plus points and the fourth game in his last five where he scored at least 30-plus points. Rudy Gobert has been highly efficient in the absence of Julius Randle, tallying a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double, which is also his fourth consecutive double-double. The Timberwolves are having a good run after starting February with back-to-back losses against the Washington Wizards and Sacramento Kings. Their offensive production has certainly improved, while Gobert is showing why he is the best defender in the league with his shot-blocking and rim protection.

The Trail Blazers are on a tear at the moment, winning 10 of their last 12 games and losing only to the Thunder and the Rockets. The Trail Blazers defeated the Kings 108-102 in their last outing. Anfernee Simons led the scoring with 30 points, while Shaedon Sharpe, coming off the bench, dropped 24 points. Jerami Grant scored 12 points, while center DeAndre Ayton tallied an 18-point, 8-rebound game. The Trail Blazers’ offense has been immaculate in recent games, and their defense has also been performing well, restricting their opponents to an average of below 101.6 points and scoring 117.4 points per game. The Trail Blazers have lost only one of their last five away games, and with most of their key players healthy and picking up form at the right time, the Trail Blazers will certainly pose a threat to the Timberwolves on both ends of the floor.
