Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets Preview, Betting Odds, and Predictions for the 2025-26 NFL Season Week 4

One of the last matches left in week 4 will see the Miami Dolphins take on their divisional rivals, the New York Jets. Both teams are coming into this matchup winless, making this matchup even more important for their season.

Recommended bets and updated odds

Tua Tagaovailoa 2+ passing TD-132-117
Breece Hall 50+ rush yards-174-195
Over 44.5 points -108-109

Analysis and Rationale

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has a total of 5 passing touchdowns from his first three games. Averaging nearly 2 touchdowns per game, Miami is likely to exploit the Jets’ pass defense, which is worse than their rushing defense. In all, the Jets have given up 5 passing touchdowns in three games thus far.

Breece Hall had a strong start to the season with a 107-yard rushing performance over the Steelers. His past two games haven’t been as strong, but against a Miami run defense that ranks in the bottom five of the league, expecting the Jets to run the ball more seems very possible. A double-digit count in rushing attempts should see Hall over 50 rushing yards in this game.

The Over of 44.5 points seems like a safe bet considering both defenses have given up many points through the first three weeks. In fact, the Jets and Dolphins rank 28th and 29th in the league in points against per game, with an average of 31 and 32.3, respectively.

Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets Preview

This AFC East rivalry matchup on Monday Night Football will see one of the two teams earn its first win of the season. With losses against the Colts, Patriots, and the Bills, the struggle in Miami has reached new lows. Despite a valiant effort against the Bills in week 3, the Dolphins fell short with Mike McDaniel very much on the hot seat.

The Jets, on the other hand, have lost two close games against the Steelers and the Buccaneers, but were completely outplayed in the week 2 matchup against the Bills. Justin Fields will be back under center for the Jets after missing the previous game due to a concussion.

Week 4 Dolphins vs Jets Predictions for NFL 2025-26

The Dolphins are the slight favorites in this AFC East divisional matchup, but it is not so straightforward. Both teams are struggling, especially on defense, where they rank near the bottom in multiple categories.

That said, the Dolphins have the edge when it comes to the offense, especially with players such as Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle who can make explosive plays at any point in time.

Our Prediction: Miami Dolphins win and cover the spread.

The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
