Maxx Crosby’s New Job As the Assistant General Manager Brings Him Back to Eastern Michigan

Devavrat Kulkarni

Eastern Michigan and Maxx Crosby reunite to create NFL history!

Las Vegas Raiders’ defensive end and their most important player Maxx Crosby has started the 2025 year with a bang. Firstly he signed a new three-year contract extension with the Raiders worth $106.5 million which briefly made him the highest-earning non-quarterback in the league. Just a little over a month from his extension, Crosby has now landed a new job as the Assistant General Manager at Eastern Michigan.

Raiders fans have nothing to worry about, however, as this piece of news does not hamper his career in the NFL in any way. The star defender will continue to terrorize opposing signal callers at his will every time he steps on the field. The assistant GM post at Eastern Michigan is an added responsibility the 27-year-old has taken up and in doing so he has become the first active NFL player to hold such a position.

Maxx Crosby’s Role at Eastern Michigan

With this new position, Crosby makes a return to Eastern Michigan University which is where he played his collegiate football on the Eastern Michigan Eagles football team from 2015 to 2018.

As part of his new job, the 4-time Pro Bowlers’ main responsibilities will be to assist in evaluating high school and portal prospects as well as manage its NIL budget. He will also fill the role of a Special Assistant to the AD in matters such as fundraising, alumni relations, and student-athlete support.

The new role at Eastern Michigan provides Crosby the opportunity to give back to the same community that helped him shape his journey toward becoming a professional football player in the NFL.

The Eastern Michigan alum has also launched a fundraising challenge known as “Maxx Match” as his commitment to the program. In the fundraiser, Crosby himself will be matching all donations to EMU Football, up to $100,000 until the end of May 2025.

Additionally, the football program at Eastern Michigan has taken another step toward a long-standing commitment with Crosby by deciding to change the weakside defensive end position from “LEO” to “MAXX”, and the team’s best edge rusher will be given the honor of wearing the number 92 jersey; the same jersey that Crosby wore during his time as a player for the Eagles.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
