Marchment Earns Second Star Honors for Outstanding Performance Ending Nov. 17
Mason Marchment was selected as the NHL’s Second Star of the Week for the period ending on Nov. 17.
Marchment had three games with multiple points each, topping the NHL in goals (tied for 4th), assists (tied for 5th), and total points (9) as the Stars finished the week undefeated. He scored 5 points, with 4 of them coming in the first period (4 points) to tie a franchise record, during a 7-1 victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins on November 11th.
In a game against the Boston Bruins on Nov. 14, Marchment scored 1 goal and 1 assist during a 7-2 win. He ended the week by scoring both goals for Dallas in a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Nov. 16, including his ninth game-winning career goal.
Marchment, aged 29, reached personal bests in goals (22), assists (31), and points (53) during the 2023-24 season (81 games). He currently ranks second on the Stars with 6 goals, 11 assists, and 17 points in 15 games this season. He is one of 44 NHL players (with a minimum of 10 GP) in the 2024-25 season who, like McDavid, is averaging at least one point per game.
Edmonton Oilers’ center Connor McDavid and Tampa Bay Lightning’s goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy were selected as the First and Third Stars of the Week, in that order.
