Manchester City after securing their place in the FA Cup semifinals will now shift their focus to the Premier League. Although they can win the ticket to Europe through the FA Cup trophy, finishing below four in the league will hit Pep Guardiola’s standards heavily.

Facing Leicester City next in the league, Pep Guardiola would mean strictly business from here on. The Citizens will host Leicester City in the matchweek 30 of the Premier League. The Foxes who are facing relegation will be hungry for some points as we approach the end of the season.

Leicester City is currently on a seven-game losing streak and has won only one game out of their ten. After bouncing back from the Championship, Ruud van Nistelrooy and his side are heading towards an early exit from the Premier League. Manchester City who cannot afford to lose a point will be putting Leicester on a pedestal.

Manchester City are facing several problems this season and injuries haven’t spared them either. However, according to Pep Guardiola’s recent comments, most of his firepower should be back before the end of the season.

Manuel Akanji who sustained an abductor injury in February is back in training as per Guardiola. Addressing his injury situation, the 54-year-old said:

“He’s training better, Guardiola said in his pre-match news conference. All of them will come before the end of the season. I don’t know when but he’s getting better. It’s been a long time since he has been out.”

Continuing his reports, Guardiola also gave updates on Nathan Ake and John Stones:

“Same with John and Nathan, the three of them. I’m lucky that Josko is a real warrior. He has been there all season. I cannot imagine what would happen without him. I am grateful and appreciate his focus to be ready all the time.”
