Manchester City in Talks with PSG Over Gianluigi Donnarumma Transfer

Manchester City have reportedly opened discussions with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential move for Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who appears set to leave the Parc des Princes this summer.

PSG’s recent acquisition of French goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier for €40m, plus up to €15m in bonuses, has shifted the pecking order at the club. Donnarumma, despite playing a crucial role in their Champions League triumph less than three months ago, is no longer considered first choice by manager Luis Enrique.

Donnarumma Left Out of Super Cup Squad

The 26-year-old has been omitted from PSG’s squad for the upcoming UEFA Super Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur, marking a significant indication of his diminishing role. With just under a year remaining on his contract and no agreement reached on an extension, the Ligue 1 champions have decided to explore a sale before the transfer window closes.

Reports suggest that PSG are targeting a fee of around €50m for Donnarumma. However, with the goalkeeper set to become a free agent next summer, Manchester City view that valuation as high. The Premier League champions are understood to be assessing their own goalkeeping situation before making a move, with Ederson, Stefan Ortega, and summer recruit James Trafford all currently on the books.
