Lynx vs. Sky: McBride, Collier Spoil Angel Reese’ Double-Double as Minnesota Lynx Extend their Unbeaten Home Streak

Minnesota Lynx extended their home winning streak to 13 matches with a 91-68 win over Chicago Sky on Tuesday night. Kayla McBride and Napheesa Collier scored 19 points apiece and the Lynx improved to 21-4 in the WNBA regular season.

The Lynx strengthened their position at the top of the WNBA standings. Apart from McBride-Collier, Bridget Carlton scored 11 points and Alanna Sith and Courtney Williams each had 10. Five players recorded in double figures for Minnesota, who clinched the regular season series against the Chicago Sky 3-1.

Minnesota Lynx Outclass Sky in the Middle Quarters to Take 13-0 Start at Home

Chicago Sky outscored the Lynx 24-19 in the opening quarter but Minnesota replied back and scored on 11 consecutive possessions to end the first half with a nine-point lead. Sky didn’t recover after the poor offense in the second quarter and managed just 12 points in the third quarter. The Lynx had 10 points off seven turnovers in the second quarter.

Going into the final quarter, Minnesota built a strong 20-point lead in the game. Chicago tried to reduce the margin in fourth quarter but failed to counter Minnesota’s offensive strength.

For Sky, Angel Reese dropped her 10th straight double-double, becoming the only player in WNBA history with multiple streaks of 10+ double-doubles. Kia Nurse led Chicago with 16 points, while Kamilla Cardoso had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Lynx become just the fourth team in the league history to start a season 13-0 or better at home. Best part is previous three teams went on to win the title. This is also the fourth time under Cheryl Reeve that Minnesota have started 21-4.
