Luka Doncic’s Wholesome Interaction with Nikola Jokic and His Daughter After Serbia-Slovenia EuroBasket Exhibition Game Goes Viral

Serbia defeated Slovenia 106-72 in their final exhibition game of FIBA EuroBasket.

Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic caught up with Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic during a EuroBasket exhibition game. On Thursday, August 21, Serbia and Slovenia squared off in their final exhibition contest in Belgrade before the FIBA EuroBasket. While the game saw Serbia blowing Doncic’s Slovenia out 106-72, the superstars of both the teams engaged in a wholesome moment, a clip of which instantly went viral on social media.

After the game, Jokic interacted with Doncic with his daughter by his side. After the Serbian greeted the Lakers’ star, his daughter, Ognjena Jokic, also shared a high-five with him. Courtside cameras were quick to capture the adorable moment amidst the rivalry, and it instantly started doing rounds on social media. Coming back to the game, after registering a blowout win over Slovenia, Serbia is unbeaten through all of its exhibition matches.

Slovenia, on the other hand, wrapped up their preparation matches with a 1-5 record. While Jokic finished the game with 10 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in 21 minutes, the five-time NBA All-Star dropped 17 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. He was shooting 4-18 from the field and 2-10 from the three-point range.

Another video from the game went viral, where Serbian fans went into a frenzy and the entire Arena reverberated with the ‘MVP’ chants. The chants show that the Joker is not merely a basketball player for his fellow countrymen, he is a national icon. Apart from being a formidable force in the NBA, Jokic has made a mark for himself on the international stage as well. Serbia is currently a frontrunner to win the 2025 EuroBasket.

Apart from having Jokic, the Serbian team has other talented NBA players including Bogdan Bogdanovic, Nikola Jovic, Nikola Topic, and Tristan Vukcevic. All these players make Serbia a powerhouse heading into the competition. They have been placed in Group A alongside Turkey, Czechia, Latvia, Portugal, and Estonia.
