Liverpool player Trent Alexander-Arnold announced his departure from the Merseyside club after 20 years of football with them. With Alexander-Arnold’s destination likely sorted already, the Reds must look for recruits to fill in the void.

Meet the Bundesliga Star Tipped to Replace Alexander-Arnold in 2025

According to several reports from last week, Bayern Leverkusen fullback Jeremy Frimpong has emerged as the favourite to replace Alexander-Arnold at Anfield. The 24-year-old has shown promise at Bayern Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso. Frimpong joined Leverkusen in 2021 and played a huge role in their first-ever Bundesliga title.

Amid the several reports, famous journalist Fabrizio Romano has also affirmed the Liverpool and Frimpong links. Providing information about the price tag on the Dutch and his possible destinations, Romano’s social media report quoted:

“Liverpool is well-informed about Jeremie Frimpong’s situation and the terms of his €35/40 million release clause. He remains one of the main names on the shortlist to replace Trent, with Frimpong expected to be eventually keen on the move”

Frimpong is a consistent contributor to Bayern Leverkusen as Alonso uses his attacking traits. The Dutch midfielder had 16 G/A in their title-winning season as he started in 27 games for Alonso in 2023/24.
