In what could be one of the most unexpected transfer stories of the upcoming summer window, a Liverpool forward is reportedly attracting interest from two Premier League clubs. Both clubs are believed to be monitoring the situation closely as they prepare to bolster their attacking options for the upcoming season.

According to reports, the player in question is Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan striker joined the Reds in a big-money deal from Benfica. Despite flashes of brilliance, Nunez has endured a torrid spell at Liverpool, often criticized by fans for his poor finishing. Most recently, Nunez’s penatlty was saved by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as Liverpool were knocked out of the Champions League on penalties by PSG.

Trent has reportedly aleady agreed to join Real Madrid when his contract expires at the end of this season.

As Liverpool consider restructuring their attacking department under Arne Slot, Nunez could be one of the high-profile names heading towards the exit door. Nunez has found it difficult to showcase his best form since arriving at Anfield and it appears that Liverpool are growing frustrated with his performances.

While the Uruguayan has previously been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, he is now reportedly attracting interest from Premier League sides Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United.

Newcastle United are closely monitoring Darwin Nunez’s situation. With both Liverpool and Arsenal showing interest in Magpies striker Alexander Isak, Newcastle are exploring potential replacements and have shortlisted Nunez as a potetential replacement for Isak. While the club remains determined to hold on to Isak, they are aware of the growing interest and may consider offers only if they receive a fee in the region of £130 – £150 million.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are also keeping a close eye on Darwin Nunez’s situation and are weighing up a potential summer move for the Liverpool forward. Manger Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season, with a new striker high on Nottingham Forest’s wishlist. The club has already been linked with high-profile names such as Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.
