Levante vs Barcelona Preview, Betting Odds and Predictions – 23/08/25

Moumita Dutta

Levante welcome Barcelona to the Estadi Ciutat de València on Saturday night as they aim to register their first points of the season against the defending La Liga champions. The hosts face a daunting challenge, having returned to the top flight this term after winning the Segunda Division.

Barcelona started their title defense in emphatic fashion, easing past Mallorca 3-0 despite playing away from home. Hansi Flick’s side already sits at the summit of the table and will look to maintain momentum with another commanding performance.

Levante vs Barcelona Preview

Levante

Julian Calero’s side opened their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Alaves, a result that will concern them given both clubs are expected to fight relegation this season. Levante, who last beat Barcelona in 2019, have a poor head-to-head record with just six wins in 45 encounters.

Injuries are also a concern, with Alfonso Pastor ruled out and Jon Ander Olasagasti, Kervin Arriaga, Goduine Koyalipou, and Alan Matturro all doubtful. New signings Jeremy Toljan and Manu Sanchez are expected to start, while Roger Brugue – last season’s top scorer – will lead the attack.

Barcelona

The reigning champions were ruthless in their opener, cruising past Mallorca thanks to early goals from Raphinha and Ferran Torres before Lamine Yamal sealed the win. Robert Lewandowski has returned to training after a hamstring problem but may start on the bench as a precaution.

Marc-André ter Stegen remains sidelined with a back issue, while Jules Kounde is set to feature at right-back. Fermin Lopez is pushing to retain his midfield spot ahead of Dani Olmo, and Ferran Torres should continue as the central striker. New signings Wojciech Szczesny, Gerard Martin, and Roony Bardghji are yet to be registered.

Levante vs Barcelona Over/ Under Predictions

Total Goals Over 3.5 @ -109 as per BetMGM:

Bookmakers’ offering of over 3.5 goals at -109 reflects Barcelona’s potent firepower combined with Levante’s vulnerability at home. Barcelona scored three against a depleted Mallorca side in their opener, despite the opponents going down to nine men – highlighting how clinical they can be with chances.

Meanwhile, both Levante and Barça games last season frequently exceeded 2.5 goals, illustrating a trend toward high-scoring fixtures . With Levante newly promoted and historically leaky – having lost their opener to Alaves – and Barcelona in top form, a scenario stretching to four or more goals seems entirely plausible .

Levante vs Barcelona Player Picks

Raphinha to score anytime @ +110 as per FanDuel:

Raphinha, who opened the scoring early against Mallorca, is in fine touch and remains a reliable finishing option. With key attacking teammates such as Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal supporting him, he benefited from numerous opportunities last match. Betting on him to score at +110 is appealing, especially given his 18-goal haul in La Liga last season and his proven ability to find the net in big games.

Robert Lewandowski to either score or assist anytime @ -270 as per FanDuel:

Even though Lewandowski is returning from a minor injury, his inclusion in the squad adds a significant creative and goal threat. Odds of -270 for him to score or assist are understandable – he netted 27 league goals last season and remains among Barcelona’s most pivotal figures in the final third.

Levante’s return to La Liga began with a narrow home defeat, exposing early-season defensive frailties. Barcelona, by contrast, dispatched Mallorca comfortably in their opener and look determined to assert dominance on the road.

Final Prediction: Levante 0-4 Barcelona

Taking into account their scoring momentum and Levante’s struggles, a 4-0 win for the visitors aligns well with betting value and current form.
