Leicester vs. Liverpool Premier League – Injury News, Match Preview and Predicted Line-Ups

Abhinav Goel

With the title within touching distance and Leicester in poor form, this fixture could provide another routine three points for the Reds.

Liverpool travel to the King Power Stadium on Sunday knowing they are just a couple of wins away from clinching the Premier League title. Arne Slot’s side hold a commanding 13-point lead over second-placed Arsenal and with only six games remaining, the finish line is now in sight.

Meanwhile, Leicester City ended an eight-match losing streak and a run of games without scoring with a 2-2 draw against Brighton last week. However, Leicester face a significantly tougher challenge here. Their recent record at home is very poor, having lost their last eight matches at the King Power Stadium without scoring a single goal. Seventeen points off safety with only 18 left to play for, Leicester are on the brink of relegation.

A draw or loss against Liverpool would confirm Leicester’s relegation, and even a surprise victory won’t be enough to save them if both Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United win their respective matches. With the title within touching distance and Leicester in poor form, this fixture could provide another routine three points for the Reds as they close in on a victorious season.

Leicester Injury News

Ghanian winger Abdul Fatawu remains sidelined while Wout Faes and Jeremy Monga will undergo late fitness tests ahead of the match. Facundo Buonanotte will return to the squad after missing the 2-2 draw against his parent club Brighton. Victor Kristiansen is also expected to be back in contention and could replace Luke Thomas at left-back, potentially the only change to the XI that faced the Seagulls.

Leicester Predicted Line-Up

Hermansen; Kristiansen, Okoli, Coady, Justin; Ndidi, Soumare; McAteer, El Khannouss, Mavididi; Vardy

Liverpool Injury News

Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold will both miss out this weekend, although Alexander-Arnold is expected to return to fitness next week. As a result, Conor Bradley is likely to retain his spot at right-back.

Meanwhile, Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai are expected to return to the starting XI. Darwin Nunez remains a doubt due to illness but he wouldn’t have featured in the starting lineup regardless.

Liverpool Predicted Line-Up

Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Gakpo
