NBA Stars Turn Focus To WNBA As Caitlin Clark Steals Spotlight

NBA legend LeBron James is excited about the start of a new WNBA season. He’s a well known admirer of the league especially Caitlin Clark’s on court abilities. With the opening weekend of the league, the Los Angeles Lakers star wished luck to Caitlin Clark who had set her sights on the championship.

The 40-year-old posted three photos of his recent meeting with Caitlin Clark. He did so with a caption of “Good Luck and DO YOU per usual this season.” Lakers forward is biting his off time after his side crashed out of the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Many stars are shifting their focus to the WNBA in the NBA off season. Kevin Durant who is also a huge supporter of the women’s pro basketball league shared his excitement. He posted a tweet on X. It read, “I love that the WNBA is back. Wishing everyone a healthy season.”

While the WNBA opening went off to a flying start with stronger teams dominating the sides that are rebuilding. Defending champions New York Liberty started their season with a 92-78 win over the Las Vegas Aces. The Minnesota Lynx also won against the Dallas Wings with a dominating 99-84 score.

Caitlin Clark Dominates Opener, MVP Odds Soar After Triple Double

Caitlin Clark began her sophomore season in the WNBA with a magnificent performance on Saturday. Indiana Fever hosted their arch rivals Chicago Sky for their season opener. And Caitlin Clark showed why she’s a leading MVP award candidate this year.

The 23-year-old dropped 20 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds completing a historic triple double. With such a performance the odds for the MVP Title have shifted in her favour. Clark remains at the first position with +150 odds. A’ja Wilson and Napheesa Collier are also not too behind her with +200 and +250 odds respectively.

Caitlin Clark’s Saturday night performance also had a level of aggression which is not often seen in her. She pushed her arch rival Angel Reese in a sequence of events in the 3rd quarter. That incident led to Reese going after Clark. Eventually, the Indiana Fever guard was awarded a flagrant foul. It was quite a rollercoaster start of the WNBA season for Caitlin Clark.
