Las Vegas Aces Head Coach Becky Hammon confirmed the arrival of her new assistant coach, Ty Ellis. Her previous two assistants took coaching jobs with other WNBA teams and she brought a well-known face. Ellis adds value to the staff room due to his great experience as an NBA assistant.

Hammon welcomed the new member in her staff room and said, “I’m super excited to add Ty Ellis to our coaching staff. He brings a wealth of experience both as a head coach and as an assistant from the NBA, G League and international play. Not only is his energy palpable, but his character and work ethic are things I highly value.”
Ellis was also an assistant for USA Basketball men’s teams. The 47-year-old has an experience of 8 years. He has worked with the USA men’s team during the 2021 & 2022 World Cup Qualifiers as an assistant coach alongside Jim Boylen.

From 2018-20, Ellis was the head coach of the G League Stockton Kings for two seasons. He helped his side to finish second in the Pacific Division and qualify for the playoffs. In the next season, his side improved to the 24-19 mark and took the first spot in the Division. Ellis has also co-founded The Ellis Performance Group with his wife Ericka in 2021. He was also the camp director for the NBA G League Elite Camp.
If we add more numbers from his coaching career, then Ellis would impress you. The 47-year-old coach was part of the Phoenix Suns in the 2017-18 season. In 2016-17, he was the head coach NBA G League Northern Arizona Suns. He also had coaching stints with the Bakersfield Jam, Grand Rapids Drive, Reno Bighorns and Tulsa 66ers.
