A warning for lake-effect snow at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park is in effect for the game’s duration, but new projections suggest the snow may move south of Orchard Park by Sunday evening.
The amount of snow can vary significantly based on the location of the lake-effect snow bands. The National Weather Service office in Buffalo stated that significant amounts of snow could occur in the persistent lake-effect snow areas throughout the weekend. “Snowfall rates are expected to range between 1 to 2 inches per hour on average, with the potential for even higher rates.”
Predictors cautioned that traveling will be extremely challenging and, occasionally deemed as “almost unachievable” because of limited visibility and thick snow on roads.
The Bills had a week off after defeating the previously unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs. Rest and familiarity with playing in harsh weather conditions may give the Bills an edge in possibly achieving a seven-game winning streak.
