The Knicks host the Wizards on Saturday, March 22.
The New York Knicks are set to clash against the Washington Wizards on Saturday, March 22, at home, Madison Square Garden. The Knicks, seeded third in the East, are coming on the back of a two-match losing streak. In their previous fixture, they fell to the Charlotte Hornets 115-98.
On the other hand, the bottom-seeded Wizards have lost three matches in a row.
The Knicks, who have recorded 43 wins in 69 games this season, have been without their star Jalen Brunson, since the 105-95 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. He sprained his right ankle in the overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Needless to say, the Knicks have felt his absence, and it has left a void in their team.
Earlier, they announced that Brunson would be out at least two weeks after suffering the injury. Recently, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau also gave an update about the two-time NBA All-Star and said that he has been making light progress. He said, “He’s doing light shooting and he’s out of the boot. So there’s steady progress and we’ll see where it goes from there.”

ESPN’s Shams Charania shared an update about Brunson and said that he is expected to remain sidelined through late March or early April. The NBA’s official injury report has also listed him out for the game against the Wizards.
It means that fans would have to wait a bit longer to see the 28-year-old back in action. Brunson has played 61 games this season, and is averaging 26.3 points, 3 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game. In his seven-game absence, the Knicks are 4-3.
Apart from him, the Knicks have listed Miles McBride as questionable with left groin contusion as well as Pacome Dadiet due to G League assignment. Ariel Hukporti will be out with left knee meniscus surgery, while Kevin McCullar Jr. will be with the G League side.
