“I’d Hit Reset Button All Across the Board”- Kendrick Perkins Wants Philadelphia 76ers to Take Tough Joel Embiid Decision

The 76ers finished the season in the 13th spot of the standings with a poor 24-58 record.

Former NBA star Kendrick Perkins believes that it’s high time the Philadelphia 76ers should take some tough decisions. The 76ers had built their NBA title aspirations around Joel Embiid. However, things didn’t go as planned for the 76ers and their hopes derailed owing to Embiid’s history of injuries. They finished the season in the 13th spot of the standings with a poor 24-58 record. Embiid’s campaign was limited due to his knee injury, and he appeared in only 19 games.

It was one of the biggest reasons the 76ers couldn’t make it to the playoffs. Recently, it was learnt that there is no certainty of Embiid’s recovery and he might miss the initial period of training camp. Considering how nothing is working for the team, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins has urged the franchise to take some hard decisions, and finally “hit the reset button all across the board.”

He said, “I would hit the reset button all across the (expletive) board, and it’s not just trading Joel Embiid and Paul George, but I’m also hitting on the reset button on who actually paid those guys and jumped the gun, right.” Perkins added, “It’s time to clean the front office, like let’s be real here man Daryl Morey has not done a great job, Daryl Morey knew about these injuries and what Joel Embiid was dealing with, Morey gave Embiid an extension.”

Jeff Teague Makes Bold Prediction About Joel Embiid’s Career

Former NBA player Jeff Teague made a bold prediction about Joel Embiid’s career. Speaking on his Club 520 podcast, Teague said, “It ain’t matter. Just get your chicken, brother. He done after these three years for sure.” The 2023 MVP faced multiple hardships in his career due to his injuries. After his NBA debut was delayed for two seasons due to a fracture in his right foot, Embiid has had to face multiple left knee issues, ligament tears, fractures and what not. Overall, he has missed around 400 games since he made it to the league.

In the 2023-24 season, the seven-time NBA All-Star appeared in only 39 games, and even that number was reduced to 19 in the 2024-25 season. Despite being one of the most talented players in the league, Embiid’s appearance in the next season is in doubt. Considering the situation, several fans and pundits have voiced their opinions about what the 76ers should do as well as predicting the future of Embiid’s career.
