These results eliminated the Chiefs from wildcard spots, as they could no longer catch up in the final weeks.

Patrick Mahomes’ Injury Seals Fate

Patrick Mahomes’ late-game knee injury was the final blow in a doomed season. The two-time MVP, who led the Chiefs to three Super Bowl wins, was knocked out with 1:53 left against the Chargers. Helped to the locker room, he watched backup Gardner Minshew throw a sealing interception.
